Outdoor Education 11/12

This exciting new course offers students the opportunity to get out outside and experience our amazing natural environment. Whether you are an experienced outdoors person or beginning your journey this course will help increase your appreciation of the outdoors and build confidence. The course aims to develop outdoor knowledge, survival skills, leadership, team-work, self-reflection, and the important role we have with our environment. This outside the timetable course meets once a week at either lunchtime or after school throughout the year and is highlighted by a SUP/kayak activity, Wildplay trip, one overnight camping trip to a Provincial Park, and a multi-day hiking trip to the Juan de Fuca Marine Trail in the Spring as a culminating activity. There is a course fee to cover expenses of approx. $130 per student. A short application or interview will take place with the teacher (Mr. Pitre).
